Healthlings: Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
Healthlings is a health-habits app made by a solo developer for family and friends. This policy is short because the app is simple about your data: it stays with you.
What Healthlings stores
- Fasting history — the fasts you start and complete, your chosen protocol and goal.
- Your other habit logs — daily steps, sleep, and alcohol-free days, plus running and strength-training plans, for the habits (Lings) you choose to track.
- Weight entries and an optional weight goal — only if you log them.
- Optional body measurements — height, waist and sex, used solely to calculate the body metrics shown to you (BMI, waist-to-height ratio, body-fat estimate). All optional; the app works fully without them.
- Streaks and badges — derived from the habits you track.
- App settings — units, reminder preferences and similar.
Where it lives
All of the above is stored locally on your device. There is no account, no sign-up, and no server that receives your health data. Deleting the app deletes your data.
What Healthlings does not do
- No ads and no ad networks.
- No selling or sharing of your data with anyone.
- No collection of your name, email, contacts, or location.
Crash reporting
To keep the app working well, Healthlings may send anonymous crash reports (a technical stack trace when the app breaks) to Sentry, a crash-reporting service. Crash reports never include your fasting history, weight, or body measurements.
Sharing
If you use the share button (for example, to share a badge you earned), the app opens your device's standard share sheet with the text shown to you — nothing is shared unless you choose to send it.
Health Connect and Apple Health
Healthlings can optionally connect to Health Connect (on Android) or Apple Health (on iOS) so you don't have to log everything by hand. This only happens after you explicitly tap "Connect Health" and grant permission — the app never touches this data otherwise.
With your permission, Healthlings reads only the following:
- Steps — to count your daily steps toward your step goal.
- Sleep sessions — to fill in last night's sleep for your rest habit.
- Exercise and workout sessions — to mark scheduled runs and strength sessions complete.
- Body weight — to fill in weigh-ins from your smart scale or other apps on your weight chart.
Healthlings only reads this information; it never writes to Health Connect or Apple Health. The data is used solely on your device to show you your own progress. It is never transmitted off your device, never shared with anyone, and never used for advertising, and it is never included in crash reports. You can revoke access at any time — in Health Connect on Android, or in the Health app / Settings on iOS — and you can always log by hand instead. Deleting the app removes any imported copies stored on your device.
Future features
If optional accounts and sync between your devices arrive in a future version, they will be opt-in, this policy will be updated first, and weight data will remain private by default.
